These are what I’ve read or intend to read & notes on ace & aro content, not always recommendations. please check the notes if using board view as there are a few I actively do not recommend! especially if you’re using this to compile a rec post and are including books you haven’t read. Some of the notes may be biased to when I read them (sometimes a decade ago) and/or my memory, and my general enjoyment of the book. I am less ‘strict’ on books that fill a niche that there’s still not a lot of.

I’m not a massive reader of adult romance so there’s not a ton of that in here.

I have a separate database for no romance & low romance books !

and also: ace space database / goodreads ace list / free aro short stories / free aro/ace fiction / aspeccharacteroftheday /

I’ve occasionally mentioned if things are ownvoices (specifically re: aspec identities) but usually I forget to do that, it’s more common now. I’ve added a separate column to indicate books by authors of colour which is also sorted into its own tab (BIPOC tag)

There may be some spoilers in the descriptions.

📄by the title means there’s more quotes or details in the listing (click the book title)

Find different sections under the following tabs:

main character: Books with aspec protagonists/main characters

(if the book has both aspec protagonists & side characters, they’re only in this section. side characters section is for side characters only.)

there are also some books in here where it’s word-of-god only or barely part of the book, I just didn’t want to erase the fact that they’re the protagonist.

side character**:** from major characters to the briefest minor mentions.

major & minor tags refer to both the significance of the character and how much aspec-ness is discussed (or if the book is deconstructing amatonormativity, etc), and whether it’s worth reading the book for them (in my opinion, which is somewhat subjective) Some of these are minor mentions, it’s more about me keeping track of things than anything significant, & to clarify for people who’ve heard that there’s ‘ace rep’ but don’t know how much. I’m also more likely to add books by AoC even if minor, since aspec books are still largely white. See here for more books with minor/side chars

to read: things i haven’t read yet and am interested in. just keeping notes for myself tbh. the tags are not necessarily accurate

aspec content: see definitions above; tags referring to how significantly ace & aro identities/themes are included

★ the remaining tabs: boards sorted by various properties; you can click to see the rest of the info. (faves is faves in general, not necessarily re: aspec-ness)

within each section they’re ordered by author firstname.
